Tim Duggan

Tim Duggan, ASLA, is a distinguished landscape architect and community planner known for developing sustainable landscapes. He is the founder of Phronesis, a landscape architecture and urban design studio with offices in Kansas City and New Orleans, focusing on creating regenerative infrastructure and community systems within the public realm.

Duggan's professional journey began at BNIM Architects in the Midwest, where he contributed to various projects ranging from complex community planning initiatives to green urban designs. His areas of expertise include innovative storm water management techniques, landscape restoration, reclamation projects, and international urban design studies. Notably, he developed over 200 LEED Platinum Landscapes while serving as the Director of Innovations for the Make It Right Foundation.

Duggan is recognized for his contributions to the field, being named one of Metropolis magazine’s 2012 Game Changers. He has shared his insights as a speaker and guest critic at numerous conferences and events such as TEDxHarlem, Dwell on Design 2014, GreenBuild 2009, National Black Caucus 2010, WEFTEC 2010, and Reinvention New Orleans 2010. Additionally, he continues to impact future generations by serving as an adjunct professor and guest critic at institutions like Tulane University, Kansas State University, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Through his work, Duggan remains actively involved with various community organizations dedicated to urban revitalization, micro farming, and sustainable education in Kansas City and New Orleans.
