Tim Mohin

Author of "Changing Business from the Inside Out: A Treehugger’s Guide to Working in Corporations," Timothy J. Mohin has held the position of Chief Sustainability Officer at Persefoni AI, an innovative startup specializing in carbon accounting software crucial for addressing the climate crisis in financial services and industrial sectors.

A veteran in corporate sustainability, Tim Mohin has dedicated over three decades to integrating sustainability into business practices, beginning his career with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Senate, where he played a significant role in the enactment of the Clean Air Act Amendments. His expertise expanded across notable technology firms including Intel, Apple, and AMD, significantly shaping the corporate responsibility landscape with a focus on social, economic, and governance issues on a global scale.

Besides his professional roles, Mohin is the founder and Chairman emeritus of the Responsible Business Alliance, formerly known as the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition. He has also served as the Chief Executive of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), where he led initiatives to standardize sustainability reporting aligning Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) topics with financial reporting. Currently, he operates ESG Advisor, LLC, providing expert sustainability advice to companies including BASF and Salesforce. He is also involved in various pro bono activities, such as guest lecturing at universities and serving on non-profit boards, advocating for environmental protection, human rights, and LGBTQ support.

Tim earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the State University of New York at Cortland and a master's degree in environmental management from Duke University.
