Tinashe

Tinashé Jørgensen Kachingwe is an American singer, songwriter, actress, record producer, and model. She began her entertainment career at the age of three when she began modeling and acting. In 2012, Tinashe released two critically acclaimed mixtapes, In Case We Die and Reverie, which she created in her home studio. After the release of the mixtapes, Tinashe signed with RCA Records. She later released her third mixtape, Black Water. Her debut single, "2 On", reached number one on the Rhythmic airplay chart, and peaked at number 24 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Her debut studio album Aquarius, released in 2014, was noted by music critics as one of the most "solid" debuts by a new female artist in years. She was nominated for a Soul Train Award in 2014 and for "Best New Artist" at the BET Awards in 2015. In 2016 the Snakehips song "All My Friends" which featured Tinashe and Chance the Rapper won an Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Song. On August 12, 2016, the music video for her new single "Superlove" directed by Hannah Lux Davis debuted on MTV's Snapchat and reached one million views in just a day and a half. In 2017 it was announced that she would would appear on the hit TV show Empire in a multi-episode arc about the creation of a visual album for the character Jamal (Jussie Smollett).

She made her acting debut in the television film Cora Unashamed in 2000. In 2004, Tinashe appeared in box-office hit The Polar Express alongside actor Tom Hanks, providing the motion capture for the female protagonist. From 2008 to 2009, Tinashe had a recurring role in the American sitcom Two and a Half Men as Celeste, Jake's girlfriend.

Tinashe describes her music as "rhythmic pop" that explores the genres of alternative R&B, pop, and hip hop. Rolling Stone called her music "dark, alluring and dangerous".
