Thomas Dewing, Ed.D., has been a Senior Consultant with Silver Strong & Associates since 1983. He has presented introductory and advanced methods in The Thoughtful Classroom model to thousands of teachers and administrators across the Unites States. Tom is the author of several publications including "Colonial Kaleidoscope," "Super Student," "Learning with Style Study Skills," and more recently, the ASCD publications "Inference" (A Strategic Teacher PLC Guide) and "The Core Six" — which is a renowned best-seller in education.
Tom’s school experience includes serving as Principal/Director of Gifted Education for Schaumburg, IL; Principal of the multicultural Dooley School (a 2005 National Blue Ribbon School); and an adjunct faculty member at North Central College. Tom received the Excellence in Education Award for Outstanding Educators (Naperville, IL, 1989 & 1992) and the Award of Excellence in Teaching for the State of Illinois (1992).
