Tom Izzo

Tom Izzo is a college basketball coach who has been the head coach at Michigan State University (MSU) since 1995. His career spans nearly three decades, during which he has amassed a series of notable accomplishments including a 2000 NCAA National Championship, 10 regular-season Big Ten Championships, six Big Ten Tournament titles, and eight National Coach of the Year awards. Moreover, Izzo holds a Big Ten record for 25 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. In 2016, Izzo was elected to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

With a career record of 687-280, Izzo stands as one of the most successful coaches in the annals of college basketball history. He has further distinguished himself with his 55 NCAA Tournament victories, the highest tally for any Big Ten coach and the sixth-highest of all time. A 2015 inductee into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, Izzo has also carried MSU to seven Final Four appearances between 1999 and 2015, a feat only three other schools have achieved in a 17-year span.

Izzo has received honorary degrees from both Northern Michigan and Michigan State, delivering the commencement address at both graduation ceremonies. He has also been inducted into the Northern Michigan University Hall of Fame and the National Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame.
