Tony Romo

Tony Romo is the Lead NFL Game Analyst at CBS Sports, a position he took up after a successful career as a professional football quarterback, notably with the Dallas Cowboys from 2003 to 2016. He transitioned into sports broadcasting following his retirement from the NFL in April 2017. He has been noted for his insightful and accurate commentary which enhances the viewer experience during NFL broadcasts. Romo re-signed with CBS Sports in a deal valued around $17 million per year in February 2020, making him one of the highest-paid personnel in sports broadcasting.

Prior to his broadcast debut, Romo built a prolific career in the NFL. Despite starting his professional journey as an undrafted backup quarterback, he climbed the ranks to become the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys in 2006. During his time as a player, Romo was selected for the Pro Bowl four times. He also had significant achievements such as leading the NFL in pass completion percentage and passer rating in 2014. In addition to these accolades, he holds the NFL records for most passing attempts through 100 starts, most consecutive road games with a touchdown pass (41), and most games with 135+ passer rating in a season (6).

Romo's achievements extend beyond his performance in NFL games. He won the Walter Payton Award in 2002, was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2021, and also holds several Dallas Cowboys team records, including most passing touchdowns, passing yards, most games with at least 300 passing yards, and games with three or more touchdown passes. He has also been involved in significant contract negotiations, such as agreeing on a 6-year, $67.5 million deal with the Dallas Cowboys in 2007.

In addition to his NFL and broadcasting careers, Romo has also undertaken other ventures. He has appeared in "Corona Hotline" commercials since 2018 and has hosted a youth football camp in Burlington, Wisconsin, annually since 2004. Romo won the American Century Championship, a celebrity golf tournament, in July 2018 and attempted to qualify for the PGA Tour's Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship in March 2018. Tiger Woods described him as one of the best celebrity golfers he has played with.

Romo currently resides in Dallas, with his wife Candice and their three children.
