In addition, she was also the first woman and first American to ski to the geographic South Pole and ascend the Lewis Nunatak in the Antarctic.
McClure's leadership capabilities extend beyond physical expeditions. She is currently steering the future of Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky, serving as its president. She has also exhibited her leadership skills as the Chair of the Board of the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), a role that further underlines her commitment to outdoor activities and leadership development.
