Trell Thomas

Trell Thomas is a communications strategist, media expert, philanthropist, and advocate for diversity and inclusion. With a career spanning public relations, media, and event production, he has worked with major brands, celebrities, and organizations to amplify underrepresented voices and foster meaningful cultural dialogue.

Thomas began his career in entertainment and corporate communications, holding roles at Viacom, BET Networks, and CBS Television. He is widely recognized for his commitment to social impact and advocacy, using his expertise in media and storytelling to shine a light on issues affecting marginalized communities while inspiring others to embrace their unique stories and purpose. He is the executive producer of “Profiled: The Black Man,” a four-part docuseries examining the origins of widespread stereotypes that have impacted the lives of Black men in America for centuries, which premiered on discovery+ in 2022.

Since 2018, the South Carolina native has hosted The Black Excellence Brunch, a celebration of Black history and culture that gathers Black professionals across industries to build community and celebrate achievements, and pays tribute to the Sunday dinners he grew up having with loved ones after church. The brunch has grown to become one of the hottest tickets in town, expanding to locations across the United States and Africa while attracting celebrities like Anthony Anderson, Iyanla Vanzant and Al Sharpton to show up in their finest and enjoy good food and fellowship. Through this platform, he aims to empower and connect Black creatives, entrepreneurs, and leaders.

In September 2024, Thomas’ event was held at one of the most sought-after locations in the country: the White House South Lawn.
