Tyler, The Creator

Tyler Gregory Okonma, known professionally as Tyler, the Creator, is a rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, music video director, fashion designer, and graphic designer. He is recognized for his versatile contributions to the music and fashion industries.

He gained notoriety in the early 2010s as the co-founder and de facto leader of the alternative hip hop collective Odd Future, and has performed on and produced songs for nearly every Odd Future release. Tyler has created all the artwork for the group's releases and has also designed the group's clothing and other merchandise. As a solo artist, Tyler has released one mixtape and five studio albums, often handling most or all production himself.

Following a significant contribution to Odd Future's early work, Tyler released his debut solo mixtape, "Bastard," in 2009. His first studio album, "Goblin," was launched under XL Recordings in April 2011. Subsequently, he signed a joint venture deal for him and his label Odd Future Records, with RED Distribution and Sony Music Entertainment. His second studio album, "Wolf," released in 2013, received positive reviews and debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200. His third studio album, "Cherry Bomb," released in 2015, featured collaborations with artists like Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and Schoolboy Q, and debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200.

In 2017, Tyler released "Flower Boy," which garnered widespread acclaim, debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200, and was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards. His fifth album, "Igor," released in 2019, marked his first US number one album on the Billboard 200.

In 2011, Tyler launched the clothing company Golf Wang, which reflects his unique style and creative direction. He also initiated the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in 2012, an annual music festival that showcases diverse music and entertainment acts. Additionally, Tyler ran his own streaming service named Golf Media, which featured original scripted content and streamed the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival annually until its conclusion in 2018.
