Warren Brown

In 2000, Warren Brown left his career as a lawyer to focus on his passion for baking. He founded CakeLove, a bakery in Washington, DC, driven by his belief that people desired superior, scratch-made cakes. CakeLove quickly gained recognition, bolstered by favorable public and media attention. Besides founding CakeLove, Brown expanded his culinary enterprise by developing a product line that includes an innovative "cake in a jar," available in major retailers like Walmart and WholeFoods, and on flights with Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Australia.

Prior to his baking career, Brown’s professional journey was primarily focused on health education. Starting as a health educator in Providence, RI in 1993, he taught reproductive health education, and later continued this work in Los Angeles, California, with an emphasis on tobacco and reproductive health issues. His dedication to transparent discussion about reproductive health led him to pursue a law degree, with the aim of influencing youth education policies in America. After earning his Juris Doctor and a master’s in Public Health from The George Washington University in 1998, he practiced health care law, working in the office of the Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services until 2000.

Brown's transition to baking began as a New Year’s resolution in 1999 to conquer his fear of flour. This resolution unveiled a new passion, leading to the opening of CakeLove in March 2002 and subsequently, Love Cafe in August 2003. Brown is also a former host of the Food Network's "Sugar Rush" and has authored four cookbooks, where he shares baking secrets and practical advice for saving time in the kitchen.

His expertise and engaging speaking style have made him a sought-after motivational speaker, encouraging audiences to pursue their passions and embrace entrepreneurship. Brown has appeared on national platforms such as "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "The Today Show," and has been featured in various publications including Inc. magazine, highlighting his professional achievements and his role in national advertisement campaigns for companies like American Express. Living in Washington, DC, Brown continues to influence both the culinary and motivational speaking circuits, advocating for creativity and entrepreneurial spirit in every endeavor.
