For your next big party or conference, gather round The Water Coolers. Conceived by one of the creators of the long running New York hit Tony and Tina 's Wedding, The Water Coolers employs original songs, musical parodies and comic sketches to gently poke fun at the rituals and routines of our daily grind so we can all work together "happily ever laughter." Following its exciting NY debut, The Water Coolers is ready to book into your next sales meeting, managerial conference or annual retreat.
Corporate trainer Sally Allen (Executive Director of Hospitality and Tourism Skills, National Skills Standards Board) and actor and comedy writer Thomas Michael Allen (Tony and Tina 's Wedding, spots for Lincoln Mercury, Coca Cola, Burger King...) decided to blend their individual expertise into a common venture. Using Broadway talent to create first class musical comedy entertainment tailored to the needs of the corporate meeting planner, the Allens recruited successful professionals from both the New York business and theatre worlds to create a fresh, new look at the topic.
A "laugh out loud" parody of the workplace, The Water Coolers lovingly lampoons the fast changing, fast talking, hard driving office environment of contemporary America. Both a salute and a send up, The Water Coolers satirizes the myths, mores and madness of corporate living. Flexible and fast paced, The Water Coolers skewer trends, habits and the occasional Achilles tendon in song and dance. Relaxed dress codes ("Casual Friday"), inappropriate office party behavior ("Panic Monday"), and the escalating reliance on IT ("In Windows 2525") are a few of the topics celebrated with wit and a wink of the eye.
The current company members of The Water Coolers have appeared in numerous New York productions and crossed the country in national tours of Ragtime, The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber starring Michael Bolton, Man of La Mancha starring John Cullum, The Will Rogers Follies starring Pat Boone, Grease, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Fiddler on the Roof, The Secret Garden, The Sound of Music, Evita and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. In film and TV, they have been seen on Fox Television, the Grammy Awards, PBS, MTV, Late Night with Conan 0 'Brien, VH1, and Law and Order.
The Water Coolers is a self contained and portable entertainment. A company of seven including five performers, one pianist, and one production manager carry all scenic elements and costumes. Talk to us about optional packages to customize the show for your audience.
