Will Hurd

Will Hurd is a multifaceted leader with over two decades of experience navigating some of the most critical national security challenges facing the United States. His diverse career spans from the back alleys of dangerous places overseas as an undercover CIA officer to the boardrooms of top international businesses and the halls of Congress. As a cybersecurity executive, investment banker, AI policy pioneer, and public servant, Will's career reflects a commitment to addressing pressing global issues with innovative solutions.

During his time as a CIA officer, Will Hurd played a crucial role in countering terrorism, thwarting Russian espionage, and dismantling nuclear proliferation networks. After leaving the CIA, he transitioned to the private sector, where he helped build a cybersecurity firm focused on preparing businesses for the emerging threats in cyberspace. His unique blend of intelligence, technology, and policy experience led him to Congress, where he served as a U.S. Representative for Texas, earning recognition from Texas Monthly and Politico Magazine as “The Future of the GOP” for his willingness to prioritize good policy over partisan politics. Throughout his three terms, he authored significant legislation, including a national strategy for Artificial Intelligence, and built a reputation as "the most interesting man in Congress."

Following his tenure in Congress, Will became a Managing Director at Allen & Company, a prestigious investment bank, and served on the board of OpenAI, the world’s leading artificial intelligence company. He was also a trustee of the German Marshall Fund, an organization dedicated to strengthening transatlantic cooperation. Will has been at the forefront of technology, national security, and public policy, focusing on issues like leveraging artificial intelligence to maintain America's global leadership and addressing the challenges of a New Cold War with China.

Although he briefly pursued a presidential run, Will decided to withdraw and continue his mission to promote thoughtful policy outside of the campaign trail. His efforts remain focused on advancing innovative solutions for national security, technology, and public policy.

A San Antonio native and the youngest of three siblings, Will Hurd earned his Computer Science degree from Texas A&M University. He is an acclaimed author of the book "American Reboot: An Idealist’s Guide to Getting Big Things Done" and serves as a fellow at the University of Chicago Institute of Politics.
