Previously he was the Joint Deputy Editor and City Editor of The Daily Telegraph (October 2005 to September 2006), and before that Business Editor for the Sunday Times (2002-2005).
Earlier William spent over 8 years with the Financial Times (1994-2002) in various positions including Global News Editor, Mergers and Acquisitions Editor based in New York, and Investment Correspondent. He began his journalistic career as a reporter for the Mail on Sunday (1991-1994).
