Wonho Chung

Wonho Chung is an award-winning and critically acclaimed stand-up comedian, singer, musician, interviewer, actor, and media personality. Born to South Korean and Vietnamese parents in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and raised in Jordan, he learned to speak Arabic as his native tongue. His fluency in the region's language and immersion in its culture from childhood have given this multi-talented entertainer a unique Asian-Arab perspective, enabling him to connect strongly with Arabic-speaking audiences worldwide.

Chung made a name for himself in the comedy scene starting in 2007, touring with the Axis of Evil comedy tour. His comedic talents were then highlighted as he covered the red carpet at both the Dubai International Film Festival in 2008 and 2009 and the inaugural Doha Tribeca Film Festival in 2009. During these events, he interviewed notable celebrities such as Goldie Hawn, Danny Glover, Amitabh Bachchan, Sir Ben Kingsley, and Mira Nair.

In addition to his comedic pursuits, Chung also showcased his skills as a host and judge. He hosted the Middle East Gala ceremony for the World Travel Awards in 2010 and 2011 and served as a judge on the Sama Dubai TV reality show "Al Fursa" during the same period. His hosting skills were further utilized in his show "Inside Asia" as part of the AFC Asian Cup coverage on Al-Kass Sports Channel, and later in the Arabic travel program "Wonho Around the World" on Al Araby TV from 2015 onward.

Chung's global experiences and understanding of different cultures were recognized in 2010 when the Korea Tourism Organization appointed him as a Goodwill Ambassador for tourism in Korea. He continued to promote cultural understanding through his mini-documentary "Shouf Korea" for Al Aan TV in 2011 and his travel program "Wonho Around the World", where he visited various international locations including South Korea, Vietnam, Japan, China, Dubai, London, and Switzerland. His appearance on the popular Egyptian show "El Bernameg" in 2014 further expanded his international reach.
