Yasmine Arrington

Yasmine Arrington is the Founder and Executive Director of ScholarCHIPS, Inc., a non-profit that provides college scholarships, mentoring, and a support network to children of incarcerated parents, inspiring them to complete their college education. To date, ScholarCHIPS has awarded over $415,000 to 81 scholars, now with 35 college graduates to date. Additionally, Arrington is a radio personality, motivational speaker, plus size model, author, and poet. She is the author of Daily Reflections for Social Entrepreneurs Journal.

Arrington is the host and producer of her own radio show and podcast entitled "Millennial Minds." Millennial Minds is a syndicated radio show that airs on WERA 96.7 FM on Wednesdays 6:30 pm and on DC Radio 96.3 HD 4 on weekdays at 2:00 pm. Millennial Minds is also available for streaming on Apple Podcasts, SoundCloud, and iHeart Radio. Arrington is a former host of the Millennial show "I Wish You Knew" produced by the DC Office of Cable Television (OCTFME) and the District Knowledge Network.

Arrington is a 2021 Washington Business Journal Top 40 Under 40 honoree. She is also a 2017 WKYS Top 30 Under 30 and was interviewed by Angie Ange on the WKYS Kiss in the Community radio segment. Arrington is an America's Promise 20th Anniversary (founded by General Colin Powell) People of Promise Awardee! Arrington is a 2012 Black Girls Rock/BET recipient of the M.A.D. (Making a Difference) Girl Award where she was introduced and featured by Debra Lee, Beverly Bond, and LaLa Anthony on the Black Girls Rock show on BET. She is also the 2012 Youth Recipient of the Linowes Leadership Award and the Peace First Prize. She is also a Jack Kent Cooke Matthew J. Quinn Prize awardee, a Samuel Huntington Public Service awardee, a National Council of Negro Women's Angel Among Us awardee, and is the recipient of several other community and public service awards. She is the 2011 Washington Redskins Scholar and was the keynote at their 52nd Annual Luncheon in August 2013. Arrington has traveled on service-learning trips to Costa Rica, Zambia, Ghana, and Jamaica.

Arrington was born and raised in Washington, D.C. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communications and History from Elon University (2015) and a Master of Divinity Degree from the Howard University School of Divinity (2018).
