Just when you think you’re invincible, convinced, "it could never happen to me", it does. Dannyell Mitchell found herself to be no exception after her neurologist diagnosed her with Multiple Sclerosis, a chronic and often physically disabling disorder that attacks the central nervous system. In that moment Dannyell realized the life she knows would forever change. Faced with the prognosis of possible disability within ten years, Dannyell asserted neither the disease nor the diagnosis would dictate her way of life. When forced to perceive that life as you know it could cease to exist without warning, what do you do? For Dannyell the answer was simple...live life to the fullest!
As creator and producer of a hit Internet radio show and as a wife, mother, entrepreneur, and executive in the construction industry, Dannyell has no time to slow down. Her objectives are simple, encourage, motivate, and inspire women to do the same. Redefining the world's definition of success is the mantra of a true Paper Doll. As co-host of the Internet radio program by the same name, Dannyell uses her platform to inspirationally challenge women to do just that.
Perfecting the gift of multitasking throughout her adult life, Dannyell maintains balance in her professional and personal life.
As a college graduate with a degree in Architectural Engineering, she has experience working with small companies as well as fortune 500 corporations. These positions have afforded her the opportunity to spearhead multi-million dollar projects in which organization and communication are key. Enthusiasm for communication and creation, amplified by her dedication to helping women transform their lives, Paper Dolls Media was born. Dannyell co-hosts the reality radio show with her closest friends of over 10 years. It’s there she finds the perfect mix of fun and empowerment. Evident from the show's inception, Paper Dolls Radio was the perfect platform for elevation assisting each of the hosts' to further pursue their dreams as well as inspire listeners of their capability to do the same.
In that vein, Dannyell was compelled to go another step further by creating "Like Me," a social network for women of color who have been diagnosed with MS. Utilizing her blog as a philanthropic effort, Dannyell plans to be a motivational speaker at various symposiums, execute events to help bring awareness to MS, and spotlight other extraordinary women who are battling the disease.
As a successful entrepreneur, Dannyell owns and manages a barber shop with her husband of 10 years. She is also the mother of two beautiful girls and resides in Knightdale, NC. Through her resilience, faith, and indomitable will, Dannyell proves pity is no match for perseverance. When challenged by the seemingly impossible the strong will grow stronger.
MS is a debilitation of the body not of the mind and defeat is far more mentally disabling than any physical disorder.
