George Kotsiopoulos is a fashion editor, consultant and stylist. He is currently the co-host of the popular, weekly series “Fashion Police” on E! Entertainment – where he discusses celebrity fashion alongside Joan Rivers, Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic. George’s first book, “Glamorous by George,” was published by Abrams Image in January 2014. The book will offer straightforward tips and advice for looking and feeling like a movie star.
Kotsiopoulos began his career with over eight years in the Style department at The New York Times Magazine. In his capacity as Fashion Associate, he was market editor and producer for photo shoots all over the world with celebrities including Julia Roberts, Salma Hayek, Eve, Kirsten Dunst, Eva Mendes, Kate Beckinsale, Mischa Barton, Gwen Stefani, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Cate Blanchett, among many others. He then went on to become Style Editor at Large for C Magazine, the national luxury lifestyle title for all of California. He has styled Julianne Moore, Courteney Cox, Nicole Richie, Heidi Klum, Carolyn Murphy, Debra Messing, Anne Hathaway, Thandie Newton, Milla Jovovich, Mandy Moore, Ashley Judd, Amber Valletta and Christina Ricci for C covers since its September 2005 launch.
In addition to his magazine posts, Kotsiopoulos is a fashion consultant for select celebrities, socialites and CEOs. He is a frequent contributor to The Hollywood Reporter and has worked as a freelance stylist for publications including Details, New York Magazine, Rolling Stone, i-D, Entertainment Weekly, Interview, L’Uomo Vogue, InStyle as well as The New York Times Magazine.
In 2005 he co-hosted the “Sephora” television pilot for E! Entertainment/Style Networks and was a fashion and style correspondent for MSNBC’s “Entertainment Hot List.” He has also made television appearances as a fashion expert and stylist on “Good Morning America,” “E! News Daily,” “The Wendy Williams Show,” “Big Morning Buzz Live,” “KTLA News,” “Access Hollywood Live,” “Showbiz Tonight,” “The Nate Berkus Show,” “YourLA,” “Good Day LA,” “American Inventor,” “House of Boateng,” “Style Star,” “How Do I Look?,” “CW Now” and “Style Her Famous” among others.
In 2003, Kotsiopoulos co-founded and co-hosted the annual “Bag Lunch” to benefit P.S. Arts, a non-profit organization on whose Board of Directors he serves, dedicated to restoring arts education to the public school system. The one-day shopping event of luxury handbags generously donated from over one hundred designers including Louis Vuitton, Dolce &Gabbana, Christian Dior, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren and Versace is the hottest ticket in LA for celebrities and socialites to spend guilt free. The ninth annual “Bag Lunch” was held in May 2012. The annual events have raised close to $1 million and one hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to the charity.
In 2011 and 2012, George was named one of The Hollywood Reporter’s “25 Most Power Stylists in Hollywood.” Additionally in 2011, George was featured in the coveted Out 100 List, Out Magazine’s annual list of the 100 most influential people in the LGBT communities.
Kotsiopoulos began his career in Hollywood as a publicist in the entertainment division of Bragman Nyman Cafarelli where he worked in virtually every area of entertainment including film, television, special events and personal publicity (even though he has a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana).
Kotsiopoulos currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
