Dominic Carter Biography

Dominic Carter has been a significant figure in journalism for over 25 years, covering numerous major political news events, including the 2016 Presidential election. His insightful understanding of political dynamics was notably recognized when he moderated a debate involving Hillary Clinton, which was featured in the Washington Post.

Carter's academic credentials include a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies from the State University of New York College at Cortland and a master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University, where he also engaged in extracurricular activities with the Syracuse radio station, WAER. His commitment to education was further honored with an honorary Ph.D from the City University of New York.

Starting his career in radio as a field reporter for WBLS/WLIB in New York City, Carter moved to television reporting six years later. He became a prominent TV Political Commentator for Verizon FiOS TV and currently appears on WABC radio. His early television work included covering significant events such as the Jesse Jackson presidential campaign and high-profile cases like Howard Beach and Bernard Goetz. At New York 1, he hosted the news and commentary show Inside City Hall, interviewing a range of high-profile figures including former President Bill Clinton and South African President Nelson Mandela.

As an accomplished author, Dominic Carter wrote "No Momma’s Boy", a memoir revealing his personal challenges and resilience growing up in a Bronx housing project with a mother battling mental illness.
