Michael B. Jordan Biography

Michael B. Jordan, an acclaimed actor known for his compelling portrayals of complex characters, has also made significant strides as a director, producer, and social activist. His role as the tragic hero Wallace in HBO's "The Wire" and quarterback Vince Howard in NBC's "Friday Night Lights" marked the beginning of his notable career. More recently, he received critical acclaim for his portrayal of attorney Bryan Stevenson in the legal drama "Just Mercy," which he also co-produced and was released in December 2019.

Jordan's acting career began early when he caught the attention of Bill Cosby and secured a role in the CBS sitcom "Cosby" in 1999. He then appeared in HBO's "The Sopranos" and was later cast in the Paramount Pictures feature film "Hardball". By 2003, Jordan broke new ground as the youngest African American actor contracted with an ABC network daytime drama series, playing Reggie in "All My Children." He moved to Los Angeles and continued to build his filmography with roles in movies like Chronicle and Red Tails, a story about the Tuskegee Airmen.

Jordan has starred in several significant films, including as the formidable Erik Killmonger in "Black Panther," and as the protagonist Adonis Creed in the "Creed" trilogy, with him making his directorial debut in "Creed III." He has also produced and starred in "Without Remorse," available on Amazon Prime Video. His production company, Outlier Society, founded by Jordan, has an exclusive partnership with Amazon that includes a TV agreement and first-look film deal. The company's upcoming projects include the live-action adaptation of "Static Shock" and "Methuselah," directed by Danny Boyle.
