Regina King is an acclaimed actress and director, known for her powerful performances in projects like If Beale Street Could Talk and Watchmen, as well as her groundbreaking work behind the camera.

King's career includes memorable roles in films such as Daddy Day Care, Enemy of the State, and Jerry Maguire. She also left a lasting impression with her performances in Legally Blond 2 and Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Dangerous. King's portrayal of R&B legend Ray Charles' backup singer and lover, Margie Hendricks, in the acclaimed film Ray garnered considerable praise and recognition.

In addition to her film work, King has worked on multiple television shows, including playing the leading role in the gritty cop drama, "Southland," and providing voice acting for the animated series "The Boondocks." She received further recognition for her performance in the ABC anthology series "American Crime," which earned her two Primetime Emmy Awards. Additionally, King's role in the Netflix crime drama "Seven Seconds" drew praise and earned her a third Emmy.

King's performance as Sharon Rivers in the romantic drama If Beale Street Could Talk won her the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her feature film directorial debut came with the drama One Night in Miami, which earned her a nomination for a Golden Globe Award for Best Director. Some of her recent projects include the Netflix film The Harder They Fall, for which she won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, and the biopic Shirley about the first black congresswoman Shirley Chisholm. In addition to acting, King also produced the biopic. She is also set to direct the race-themed monster movie Bitter Root.
