He is the founder of the "because I said I would" movement, a global initiative focused on the importance of promises and personal integrity. Following the loss of his father on September 4, 2012, Sheen initiated the distribution of Promise Cards at no cost to anyone who requested them. Since then, over 14.1 million Promise Cards have been sent to 178 countries.
