She currently works full time as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Service Women's Action Network, the nation's leading 501c3 nonprofit organization advocating on behalf of all servicewomen and women veterans in the country.

Barber has a Diversity and Inclusion Certification from Cornell University. She also has a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Norwich University, a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Maryland University College, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Virginia State University.
