Chuck Aoki Biography

Chuck Aoki, a Paralympic athlete, has demonstrated significant prowess in adaptive sports, particularly wheelchair rugby and basketball. Aoki's journey began at the tender age of six with his entry into wheelchair basketball. By age 15, he had transitioned to wheelchair rugby, a sport that would ultimately cement his standing on the global stage. His international debut in wheelchair rugby came in 2009, and soon after, he became a critical asset to the United States national team. Aoki is the first U.S. wheelchair rugby player to compete at four Paralympic Games.

Aoki's contributions to the national team are marked by an impressive series of victories. In 2009, he secured a gold medal at the American Zonal Championship, followed by another at the 2010 Wheelchair Rugby World Championship. Further accolades include a bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Paralympics and a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics.
