Described as a high energy comic, Chris Distefano acts out a variety of characters derived from his life. Distefano has worked at all of the top comedy clubs across NYC including Gotham Comedy Club, Carolines on Broadway, and The Comic Strip. He's also a regular performer at the Fairfield Comedy Club and the historic Beacon Theatre. His filmography includes notable appearances in the hockey comedy Benders and Backyard Bar Wars.
With his first-hour stand-up special premiering, his popular TV series extended, and an overall deal with Comedy Central, Distefano has become a favorite with audiences and industry insiders alike. His first hour-long standup special, "Chris Distefano: Size 38 Waist," premiered on Comedy Central in 2019, followed by his second special, "Speshy Weshy," which premiered on Netflix in May 2022. He also self-produced a Netflix special where he humorously takes on woke culture.
In addition to his first special and the extension of his series, Comedy Central signed Distefano to an overall deal for exclusive on- and off-camera services, as well as a first look at content created/developed for any platform. The pact encompasses several projects already in development, including an animated series, and an unscripted series. He has made his mark on the podcasting scene as well, co-hosting the popular "Hey Babe!" with Sal Vulcano from Impractical Jokers and his very own "Chrissy Chaos." He also co-stars in the web series "Bay Ridge Boys" alongside fellow comic Yannis Pappas, with whom he hosts the popular weekly history podcast "History Hyenas."
Distefano has been a guest on The Pat McAfee Show and regularly appears on many of Sirius XM Radio’s most popular shows, including The Bonfire, Jim Norton and Sam Roberts, and Sway in the Morning.
He has appeared on TruTV’s "Comedy Knockout" and MSG Network’s "People Talking Sports," and he has performed stand-up on NBC’s "Late Night with Seth Meyers" and CBS’ "Late Show with David Letterman." Notably, he has also hosted episodes of MLB's "Off The Bat" and MSG's "The Brackets." Distefano, an inductee into the Bears Athletic Hall of Fame, is a favorite on the stand-up festival circuit, with Interrobang lauding his recent appearance at The Moontower Comedy Festival as “one of the best sets of the fest” and Exclaim! calling his 2018 appearance at The Montreal Just For Laughs Festival “a pleasure to watch with his macho but never arrogant style.”
Distefano, who grew up in the Ridgewood neighborhood of Queens and attended Archbishop Molloy High School, can be seen performing almost every weekend at clubs and theaters across the country. After earning a doctorate in physical therapy from the New York Institute of Technology, he began pursuing his career in comedy full-time in 2013. Today, he regularly performs and tours globally, while currently residing on Staten Island with his two children.
