  MMA • Message Messenger Audience…Not Mixed Martial Arts. This is my core philosophy in media training. As Messengers, it is imperative that we craft Messages that can be understood by the Audience.

  • Messenger • The task of the speaker is to show up, prepared with one over arching purpose…TO BE UNDERSTOOD. Understanding while singular is comprised of many factors. Among them is appearance, knowledge, word choice and flow. Everything under the control of the speaker, should be…controlled.

  • Message • Crafting a message that the audience can understand whether they are in the C-Suites or the Mean-Streets. This is dictated by the audience, and adapted by the Messenger. Craft the message, utilizing the controllable elements of a Messenger, and the mercurial factors of the Audience.

  Audience • To whom you are speaking. This is forever changing and unique. This is the variable most out of control of the Messenger, and the one that demands the most attention. Speaking to a room full of CEO’s requires a different Message than a classroom of Children. However the rules of Messenger, and Message Apply. Knowing your audience allows the Messenger to show up authentically, with a Message best suited to be received by the Audience. This is not mere theory, I apply these concepts everyday hosting Boston Globe Today and with every appearance on national television I have ever made.

  In a world of "haves and have nots" it isn’t enough to want success, you have to know how to be successful. This session shows the awesome power hidden in a carefully crafted comment, and more importantly how to find the words to create them. For CEO’s and managers this tool is akin to Ponce De Leon discovering the Fountain of Youth. Speech when used correctly will inspire employees, and a motivated workforce has unlimited potential. For those looking to "level up" the HOW you explain what you deserve is often times more important than the WHY you deserve it!!! The phrase "Work Life Balance" entered the zeitgeist and has had a grip on the social conscious tighter than a python’s. And as the juggling act of maintaining sanity while maintaining a salary constricts our ability to find joy, it can feel difficult to breathe. So what is the skeleton key, to unlock the gate that leads to the path of happiness both professionally and personally..?
