Bonnie Chan Woo is the Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of Icicle Group Holdings Limited (“Icicle Group”). Founded in Hong Kong, Icicle Group is a leading cross-media branding and marketing company with offices in Hong Kong, Beijing and Manila and it is publicly traded on the GEM of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. Under Chan Woo’s leadership, Icicle Group maintains a collaborative partnership model with over 300 brands. She and her team actively advise and execute branding and marketing strategies across media and geographies. Icicle’s unique result-driven approach involves the use of technology, the development of creative talent combined with best-in-class production discipline and the application of strategic design thinking in meeting marketing challenges for brands to achieve transformative results.
In 2017, Chan Woo co-founded Studio SV Limited, a hybrid content studio with Grammy-winning hip hop artist, Lupe Fiasco. The studio produces original content bridging cultures to reach a global audience, with a debut episodic series “BEAT N PATH” globally distributed across 15 countries. The studio is innovative in its approach to create a channel for entertainment as well as brand association.
As a popular speaker, Chan Woo has offered insights into the industry and shared her expertise at numerous business conferences. She has spoken at events in Hong Kong, Chicago, Toronto, San Diego, Wuhan and Shanghai hosted by various organizations, most notably Hong Kong Trade Development Council. On such occasions, Chan Woo explained how inbound foreign brands and outbound Chinese brands are adapting to markets foreign to themselves; how Hong Kong is serving as a creative production hub for foreign and mainland Chinese brands; and how brands are increasingly using online content and social media influencers to connect with their target customers.
In addition to Icicle Group’s business ventures, Chan Woo leads her team on corporate social responsibility commitments, most notably through the support of the Homeless World Cup initiative for over ten years and the operation of a socially responsible stationery label, “Printer & Co.”, which has attracted much media attention and collaboration with leading designers.
Outside of work, Chan Woo actively contributes to the creative industry, the arts and culture community and the education sector through her advisory roles and directorships in various Hong Kong government departments, NGOs and charities, including Para Site, a non-profit contemporary art institution and Hong Kong Design Centre, where she serves as Director of the Board and Vice Chairperson respectively. In 2018, she has been named one of the top 15 most powerful women in Hong Kong by Hong Kong Tatler.
Chan Woo earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in politics, philosophy and economics from University of Oxford. She is a Fellow of the China Fellowship Program and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
