Johanna Fuentes serves as the Executive Vice President of Worldwide Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at Warner Bros. Prior to that, she served as Executive Vice President of Communications for Showtime Networks Inc. As the chief press officer for Showtime Networks, she is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of all global public and media relations initiatives enhancing the corporate and programming interests for SHOWTIME. Fuentes oversees programming publicity, media and talent relations, events, photography, awards, film festivals, philanthropy, sports and corporate branding. She also supervises all corporate and business press outreach, as well as serving as the company’s communications liaison with parent company ViacomCBS. She previously had oversight of the PR teams for both Smithsonian Channel™ and Pop TV, before their transition to the ViacomCBS Entertainment & Youth Brands.
Previously, Fuentes served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Public Relations for Showtime Networks Inc. Fuentes has been a key member of the Corporate Communications leadership team since joining the network in 2010. In this role, she was responsible for the planning and execution of public relations initiatives for various areas of the company including marketing, digital media, film and documentary acquisitions, consumer products, distribution and new business development, as well as the network’s stand-alone streaming service. Fuentes managed the analysis and dissemination of the network's subscriber, ratings and research data to the national media, and manages the network's series pick-up, casting, scheduling and development announcements. In her role, she also worked closely with CBS Corporate Communications and senior management on earnings and analyst materials, and announcements regarding the Company’s expansion into international markets.
Fuentes has been honored as one of The Imagen Foundation’s Most Powerful and Influential Latinos in the Entertainment Industry since 2012. In the fall of 2019 she was officially inducted as part of the freshman class of Imagen’s Powerful and Influential Latinos in Television & Film Hall of Fame. She has also been recognized on Multichannel News’ Women to Watch in 2017, and on the magazine’s Forty Under Forty list in 2015. Fuentes has been honored annually as one of the Most Influential Minorities in Cable by CableFAX: The Magazine, and in 2019 as one of the magazines Most Influential Multi-Ethnic Executives. She has also been listed on PR News’ Top Women in PR in 2018 and 2019.
Fuentes serves on the board of Color Comm, the nation's premier platform addressing diversity and inclusion from across the communications, marketing, media, and advertising arenas – a business community for women of color in the communications industry. She was honored at the Fifth Annual ColorComm Circle Awards celebrating six change makers in the industry in 2018. She previously served on the Public Affairs Committee for the NCTA – The Internet & Television Association, the principal trade association for the U.S. broadband and pay television industries.
Fuentes is a graduate of Boston College, with a B.A. in Communications and a B.S. in Management and Marketing from the Wallace E. Carroll School of Management. She is based in the SHOWTIME offices in Los Angeles.
