Jill Gregory, currently the Principal of Gregory Strategy Group, brings over 20 years of experience in marketing, development, and growth strategies to the table. Prior to this role, she served as the NASCAR Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, overseeing the marketing department at NASCAR, including brand marketing, social media, insights, and analytics, among other functions.
Gregory specializes in sparking transformations, reshaping cultures, and driving success across various industries, including sports and motorsports. This includes her past role as leader of NASCAR’s Industry Services department since joining the sanctioning body in July 2007. In 2015, she also assumed leadership of NASCAR Marketing and was responsible for initiatives designed to reach and engage avid fans and cultivate new fans among millennial, youth, and Hispanic audiences. In August 2016, Gregory was named Chief Marketing Officer. She has since led businesses through organizational change, strategic shifts, and rapid growth. Prior to joining NASCAR, Gregory was the Senior Vice President of Motorsports Marketing for Bank of America, where she negotiated the bank’s entry into NASCAR and established sponsorship relationships with NASCAR, teams, and tracks in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
Moreover, Gregory has experience at the highest levels of leadership in sports, banking, technology, and other global industries. She has created and managed consumer marketing efforts, analytics, insights groups, and brand development programs for prominent sports names, such as NASCAR and Sonoma Raceway. Before taking her position at Bank of America, Gregory was Director of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series marketing program for Sprint NEXTEL, managing all elements of the re-branding of the NASCAR Winston Cup Series to the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series, as well as the marketing programs around the entitlement of NASCAR’s top racing series. During that time, she built and managed the cross-functional team responsible for the overall launch and management of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series program.
Gregory was selected as a winner of the annual Charlotte Business Journal “Women in Business Awards” in 2013 for her achievement in business and the community. In 2011, she was named to the inaugural class of “Game Changers: Women in Sports Business” by SportsBusiness Journal and SportsBusiness Daily — a national honor that recognizes women who bring ideas, solutions, and perspectives to the sports business. She has also been featured in publications such as Marie Claire and Bizwomen, part of The Business Journals’ family of publications.
She is passionate about relationships, integrity, inclusion, and creativity and is dedicated to being an ally of all and supporting women in all professions. Gregory earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, Calif. She is a current member of the NASCAR Foundation's Board of Directors and was the 2015 Corporate Walk Chair for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Charlotte Light The Night Walk.
