Kenny Xu Biography

Kenny Xu is the President of the race-blind advocacy group Color Us United, the author of the book “An Inconvenient Minority,” and “School of Woke,” and the host of the podcast Inconvenient Minority, a podcast that deeply investigates race, identity, and culture.

Color Us United is the leading organization that investigates and takes on corporations whose woke policies are potentially harming employees and our culture of excellence.

Xu’s book “An Inconvenient Minority,” which is about the Ivy League discrimination lawsuits and commentates on Asian Americans’ inconvenient place in racial victimhood, sold out the first printing in one month and was highly ranked in the category of Asian American History (#1), Discrimination and Racism (#1), and Teacher Training and Studies (#1). It continues to be one of the most definitive and widely consumed books used by thinkers on race and meritocracy today.

In his new book, “School of Woke,” Xu provides historical context to the rise of Critical Race Theory in education, tracing it back to elite graduate schools in the 1970s and showing how the ideology became institutionalized and credentialed. Xu covers the battles taking place in the most problematic and contested school districts in the nation, including Loudoun and Fairfax County Public Schools in Northern Virginia and Santa Barbara High School in California. He also explores the lucrative business model behind the diversity consulting industrial complex that is instrumental in the curricular wars. He shows how educators and administrators have been gaslighting the public about the prevalence of this radical ideology in the classrooms, where children as young as five are being segregated in the classroom by race and are being taught that whiteness is inherently evil.

He has written commentary for the Wall Street Journal, City Journal, Quillette, Newsweek, The New York Post, National Review, The Federalist, The Washington Examiner, and The Daily Signal. His journalism is beloved by communities of all races who share his passion for making the United States a more fair and meritocratic society.

Xu has spoken on colorblindness and critical race theory in front of groups as diverse as the nationally renowned Pacific Legal Foundation to the Boston Rally for Education Rights to the all-Black Connecticut Parents Union. His commentary has propelled him to interviews with Fox News, Newsweek, The Epoch Times, various Youtube shows, radio and podcasts, and features in the New York Times Magazine, the New York Post, and NPR.

As the youngest board member of the Asian-American Coalition for Education and Students for Fair Admissions (which sponsored the Ivy League lawsuits) and an identity politics journalist for nearly two years, Xu has unique and unprecedented access to the major players fighting the deep racial ideologies propagated by academics today and understands the scope and scale of the critical race theory movement in education with fine detail and synthesis of national and world issues.

Xu grew up in Richmond, VA, and later moved to Princeton, NJ with his family in his high school years. He attended Davidson College and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Philosophy. He lives in Raleigh, North Carolina where Color Us United headquarters is also located.
