Volunteering is a win-win activity. Mindy has been a volunteer, AND has been the beneficiary of the outcomes of volunteerism. In this presentation, Mindy walks through her journey from both sides, discusses the benefits of volunteering, and how 60 years of thousands of individuals volunteering their time led to her real-life miracle.
There is comfort in familiarity. It is our nature to seek out people who are like us. But, by limiting our exposure to people who are different • whether race, physical ability, age, gender, sexual orientation, or religion • we limit our knowledge, our perspective, our competitive advantage, and so much more. There are unique experiences and challenges that come along with being a member of any classification of people. But, Mindy believes that these unique challenges and experiences are the very things that build in us the skills and experiences that make us extraordinary. In this presentation, Mindy discusses the reasons why diversity & inclusion makes us and makes our businesses better, and will examine, from her own perspective, why a company should strive to be a leader in this area.
As discussed in Mindy's upcoming book, "The Truth About Things That Suck," adversity is a certainty in life. Though our challenges may look different, the tools and strategies we use to navigate can be universal. Mindy will discuss several of the truths about the adversity we all face and how those truths help create a constructive mindset and a strong foundation in who we want to show up as when times get tough:
