Todd Conner is best known as an actor and live storyteller, playing guest and co-starring television roles on Hulu's ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING, HBO's THE DEUCE, and CBS's WALKER TEXAS RANGER and others, while his signature solo live performance event, "Uncle Ovid's Storytime & Stand-up Metamorphoses" is based on ancient Roman myth, which he translated himself. He has received raves from California to New York in schools and professional theatres for its astonishingly direct and modern immediacy, ever since it opened in Beverly Hills at the 2000 millennium. This piece is a rare and unparalleled solo event that against all odds transports audiences thousands of years back in time, unlike any other.

More recently, Conner Emceed the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 International Builders Show at the Westgate in Las Vegas, where it set new attendance records. Playing live to a packed room of 5000+ attendees (out of 70,000 attends over the week), he introduced and chatted with high achievers and executives of the International Building Industry on stage and conducted an extended interview with keynote personality Mike Rowe, host of DIRTY JOBS.     This is an interactive presentation about how "Uncle Ovid's Storytime & Stand-up Metamorphoses" was created out of Todd Conner's experience working at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. It describes how the author, a young actor in Hollywood at the time, set out to rediscover storytelling at its bardic roots in a sort of storytelling version of the "Lindbergh Solo Flight," crossing an oceanic divide of narrative style to recover the technology of storytelling (verse) as it may have functioned thousands of years ago— counterintuitive entirely to the industrial model of Hollywood. Along the way, he offers a theory toward a different approach to storytelling, a human alternative to the era of Artifice we are now entering with A.I.
