Jessica Jordan (previously known as Jessica Ping-Wild) is a 26-year-old, disabled woman who currently lives in central Illinois. She was born with a very rare genetic disorder called CHILD Syndrome. This condition has left Jessica with a shortened arm and an amputated leg on the left side of her body. Both are covered in red, itchy, dry skin. With only 60 known cases worldwide, Jessica has always been unique, but it wasn’t until 3 years ago that she truly began to understand and unleash her distinctive voice.
In June 2020, one year after graduating with a BA in English literature from the University of Notre Dame, Jessica launched her personal brand, The Rolling Explorer – a lifestyle blog with a disabled twist. She uses her online platforms to share her lived experience with her audience, to educate and spread awareness of the disabled perspective, to spill the #AccessibiliTEA, and inspire self-love and disability pride worldwide.
Jessica works as a writer, speaker, content creator, influencer, model, actor, presenter, and consultant and is represented by C Talent at Whalar. She has worked with brands like Google, Meta, Logitech, Paralyzed Veterans of America, TFL, Liberare, Natwest, and the NHS.
Jessica has attended London Fashion Week for 3 consecutive seasons as both a model and a guest. She has sat front row for designers like Pam Hogg, Buerlangma, and Helen Anthony, and walked for sustainable designer Sarah Regensburger. Most notably, she closed the Unhidden runway wearing an adaptive and luxurious red dress. As a result, she was interviewed on Channel 4, NowThis, and was even highlighted in the BBC’s most striking looks from the Feb 2023 LFW season.
She has been featured in several publications, including on the digital cover of Flewid Magazine, British Vogue, Billboard, USA Today, ITV News, MSN, and more. In May 2022, she had her first TV appearance on E4’s Embarrassing Bodies.
In June 2023, Jessica was invited by Instagram to attend Vidcon in Anaheim, California as one of their 10 creative ambassadors. While there, Jessica worked directly with the Meta team to create content as well as direct her own videos on the ground. She attended several keynote presentations and panels on the ever-expanding creator economy and met dozens of other content creators from around the world.
With over 185,000 followers across all of her social platforms, Jessica is a powerful voice in the disability community. You can follow her journey on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
When she is not working, Jessica enjoys traveling with her family and friends, binge-watching reality tv shows, taste-testing different pancake stacks, and reading on the couch with her dogs, Oreo and Rosco.
