Since Hamas' pogrom on October 7, 2023, there has been an explosion of antisemitism on university campuses. Between 2015-2020, research from the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP) found that institutions that accepted funding from Middle Eastern donors had, on average, 300% more antisemitic incidents than those institutions that did not.
ISGAP research uncovered billions of dollars of unreported funds (primarily from Qatar) to US universities that had not been reported to the Department of Education (DOE), as required by law. For example, in Cornell ISGAP found $10 billion in contracts and gifts from Qatar from 2001 to December 31, 2023.
Universities are where many young people learn to be members of society. University student groups, such as National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP), are funded by entities with strong ties to terror-linked organisations (including Hamas), including American Muslims for Palestine (AMP). After October 7, 2023 NSJP openly declared themselves to be part of the “movement” (which refers to Hamas’ October 7 attacks), and not just supporters. These groups have recently begun waging a campaign to close Jewish institutions and organisations on campus, for example, Hillel.
Qatar has a Bay'ah to the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood is an amalgamation of European genocidal antisemitism (for example the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and Nazism) and a perversion of the peaceful religion Islam. One of the chief ideologues of the Muslim Brotherhood, Yusuf al-Qaradawi, often repeated his “teaching” that “the last punishment [upon the Jews was] carried out by Hitler... the next time will be at the hand of the believers.”
Qatar is a very small country -• with a population no bigger than 3 million people, 12 percent of which is Qatari -• but gives more money to higher education than any other country in the world. The Qatari regime has invested between $500 billion – $1 trillion USD of assets to affect soft power in the US – including prestigious universities, hospitality, and PR firms.

The Muslim Brotherhood is an amalgamation of European genocidal antisemitism (for example the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and Nazism) and a perversion of the peaceful religion Islam. The Qatari regime, and the regimes it holds good relations with, including the Taliban and Iran, are fundamentally anti-Western and anti-democratic. Recently, the Taliban made it illegal for women not only to not attend school, but to speak in public.

Elie Wiesel often stated that antisemitism begins with the Jews, but it never ends with them. This is not a parochial Jewish or Israeli problem: this is a threat to fundamental American values of democracy and equality.
