Mariana Carvalho is a dynamic computer scientist, writer, researcher, and career mentor known for her contributions to diversity and inclusion in the tech industry.

Recognized as one of El Mundo Boston’s Latino 30 Under 30 in 2022 and named Mentor of the Year by WomenTech Network in 2023, Mariana has had a profound impact on the tech community in both Brazil and Massachusetts. She co-founded Brazilians in Tech, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Brazilian women in STEM fields.

Mariana’s career began with a significant shift from marketing to technology, sparked by a full-ride scholarship to study Computer Science in the United States. Since then, she has built a robust career as a solutions engineer at Dell Technologies and a project manager at FedEx, where she specialized in cloud computing and IT infrastructure. Her technical expertise is also reflected in her authorship of two technical books on Cloud Computing and IT Infrastructure and a co-authored book on diversity in technology.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Mariana is a passionate advocate for women in technology, mentoring young professionals transitioning into tech roles across the U.S., Europe, and Brazil. She has been an active contributor to global tech conferences and initiatives, serving as a scholarship reviewer for prestigious organizations like the Anita Borg Institute and ACM. Mariana holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Jackson State University, an MBA from ESPM-Rio, and a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Marketing.
