Leadership is a position or title most ""achievers' go after, but often times you see them fall flat on their face. Why? Because they often times they don't take the responsibility of ownership of "what went wrong."
When you hold a title of "leader" you must take responsibility for everything and everyone. Finding the solutions and giving grace and forgiveness, even to yourself. Along with that, you must be a leader that people will follow. Vulnerability in your shortcomings as a leader, allows people to see you as human, relatable. They will respect your honesty. When people respect you, they will follow your lead.
Have you ever heard "first you must lead yourself?" This is true on so many levels but how many times do you actually see this take place? Most leaders are saying one thing and doing another behind closed doors.
If we want effective leaders in the workplace, government, schools and churches, we must become an effective leader at home, in our personal life, and with ourselves.
It also goes without saying that you don't have to carry the title CEO in order to be considered a leader. Some of the best leaders I know are stay at home moms, leading their families in the direction of joy, love, abundance and peace.
Whenever I speak about wealth, people often assume I am talking about money. Most of the time I am not. I am talking about abundance. Abundance is the opposite of lack. Lack is the #1 thing that will hold people back...lack of knowledge, lack of values, lack of resources, lack of money.....When I discuss legacy wealth, I am talking about teaching our kids about the principles it takes to keep an abundant mindset. Yes financial literacy is incorporated, but its' not the #1 thing. Knowing and understanding money, time, value and the characteristics it takes to keep those things from generation to generation.
You were created for a purpose. You have gifts, skills, talents, and attributes that no one else has. The world needs you to be bold in sharing those gifts. Fear and doubt are only there to build your strength. If you can see passed those strongholds, you will see that they are a facade, tricking you into believing that the world doesn't need your tenacity. In a ll reality, the world DOES need your tenacity because your tenacity will hold onto your dreams and desires. Those dreams and desires will bring you to your destiny and if you allow those things to be blanketed with integrity, then you will impact the people you were meant to impact.
Have you ever thought, "Why do I want to do that?" Or "Why do I want that."
I use to think these things because I always wondered why I had certain dreams placed in my as a young child. At first I thought it was because I wanted to be rich or famous, but then those things didn't really appeal to me as an adult. I was actually scared of being famous and I already found my wealth in my family. So why did I still want certain things?
Because the journey to acquire those things made me get out of my comfort zone and impact other people. They required me to become more and by becoming more, I was developing into who I was made to be.
You have dreams inside of you that were put there so you would do the work to achieve them and by doing the work you are becoming the person you were meant to be. That's why we are on this planet. To build our character and develop the skills to impact each other in a positive way. So next time you question why you want that new house or car or you want that position at work, ask yourself "Who do I have to become to be that person and is that making me better?"
