We hear a lot about psychology but what about physiology? The science of human physiology is deeply connected with thoughts, behaviors, and work performance. Serotonin, oxytocin, cortisol, and dopamine hugely impact humans' ability to connect and be well. Participants will receive strategies on how to increase their awareness and take action based on these human factors, which will not only improve their performance but also aid them in promoting the talent and well-being of others.
Attendees will:
gain a deeper understanding of the psychology and physiology important to all human connection and performance and learn the role of serotonin, dopamine, oxytocin, and cortisol in their experiences both at home and at work.
have (at minimum) two innovative tools to apply individually to better manage stress, improve connections, and enhance cognition.
be able to identify at least one environmental factor that could negatively impact their or their team's wellness; feedback can then be provided to help manage factors.
Based on the quote "same minds stagnate, different minds create," this talk highlights the importance of surrounding yourself with mentors and colleagues that hold a similar value system • not similar ideas.
Emily Elrod explains why finding this team of like-hearted geniuses is critical at any point in your career, but especially when pursuing entrepreneurship. Having similar desired outcomes is key but the means of achieving a goal can be approached in multiple ways. Not one of us knows it all or can do it all (and we don't have to!).
The brilliant brains (and hearts) of the people around us are what truly lead to success, especially when in proper alignment with our values and complementary to our own strengths. Emily will discuss complementary strengths/skills and what to look for in an ideal network to ensure there is a Thinker, Finder, Doer, and Communicator (and more) on your team.
Challenge the thought distortion that entrepreneurship requires a person to know or do it all.
Be able to discuss the various types of strengths a person may bring to a team and how those strengths combine with others to create greater success.
Learn to identify the type of person or (genius) that may be missing from their current network.
Feel connected and empowered to take the next step in creating an ideal network.
Name the next step needed to work towards a goal, with follow-up accountability to achieve this goal (if wanted.)
