When all his skills as a physician could not bring relief to his wife after the birth of their second child, Dr. Eldred Taylor began his search for a new understanding of the many factors that impact on the physical health and overall wellbeing of women.
Dr. Taylor was inspired by John Maxwell’s concept that if one spent 15 minutes a day studying a given topic, one could become an expert in 5 years. Determined to find new ways to help his wife and other patients, Dr. Taylor accelerated his commitment to becoming an expert on women’s wellness. He searched for connections every day between hormonal cycles and symptoms with the goal to finding new answers. He was driven by the desire to deliver results and producing care so patients could regain and maintain wellbeing in less time. He reviewed women’s wellness information across the spectrum from alternative medicine to the latest medical studies and drug testing. As he gained new insights, his approach to providing care to his patients underwent a dramatic change!
This intensive research led to a new approach to women’s wellness. His wife, Dr. Ava Bell-Taylor, became his partner in writing their book, Are Your Hormones Making You Sick? They formed The Women’s Wellness Group, which is known for giving special attention to the body, mind and soul connection in caring for patients. Together, they also publish a newsletter, Natural Woman, four times a year. Natural Woman covers all aspects of women’s health, integrating the body, mind and soul connection to wellness.
Dr. Taylor combines his exceptional training in conventional Obstetrics and Gynecology from Emory University and his experience with alternative therapies to provide comprehensive patient focused care. He believes that patients and doctors should work together in partnership to achieve the best possible treatment outcome. Dietary and lifestyle changes, along with safe and effective natural therapies, can solve many problems and allow women to avoid surgery or synthetic medications and their side effects. However, when surgery or pharmaceuticals are needed, Dr. Taylor uses diet, lifestyle changes and natural therapies to enhance their benefit.
In addition to his own practice, Dr. Eldred Taylor also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Emory University School of Medicine, where he earned his M.D. He has completed more than 200 hours of continuing medical education in integrative medicine, combining traditional and alternative methods.
