Rod Beckstrom Biography

Rod Beckstrom is a veteran Silicon Valley entrepreneur and a well-known cybersecurity authority. He is the former President and CEO of ICANN and the founding Director of the U.S. National Cybersecurity Center. He has also served as Senior Advisor to the Director of National Intelligence. Beckstrom is recognized for his expertise in internet leadership and organizational leadership, and is co-author of the best-selling book "The Starfish and the Spider: The Unstoppable Power of Leaderless Organizations." Additionally, he is an Honorary Professor of International Law at China’s Beijing Normal University.

Currently, Beckstrom serves as an advisor to multinational companies, governments, and international institutions, including his role as Chief Security Advisor to Samsung SSIC. He holds the position of Vice Chairman of the Global Council on the Future of the Internet at the World Economic Forum. Beckstrom is the Founder and CEO of BECKSTROM, a company that advises top global companies and institutions and shapes and builds technology companies. He is also Co-founder and Chairman of Stealth Security and Executive Chairman of HitCheck.

Beckstrom chairs the Advisory Board of the Stanford University Cybersecurity Policy Program (CISAC), an interdisciplinary effort between Stanford University and the Hoover Institution.
