Charity Shea began as a watcher. Watching everything her mother did. She studied and admired her mother's gracefulness in ballet, riveting theatrical performances and her overall compassion as an artist. This is when her desire and inspiration for the arts began.
Charity was born in Colorado, but quickly became a nomad, living everywhere from Idaho to Hawaii and even Paris. The ever changing backdrops taught Charity at a young age the importance of maintaining a certain identity while having the ability to adapt quickly. But even in all these different places she quickly found a niche she could always turn to, a place of comfort, a space she could call a stable home-- the stage. It was the world of theater that gladly welcomed her in and her love for the arts finally began to take off.
As a young woman Charity ended up back in Colorado where she continued her theater studies and lived a happy snowboarder's life. However, anxiety started to take hold of her and she realized that her dreams were still waiting to be fulfilled. Finally, one day she woke up and dropped what seemed like everything; friends, security, romance and the mountains. She left with absolutely nothing except the clothes on her back, a beat-up truck and a map leading her to Tinseltown.
A fateful hand was played when she was promptly discovered by a talented young manager, Scott Karp, in a Bobby Chance Actor's Showcase. Scott knew he had found a diamond in the rough and put forth valiant efforts in opening doors for this young actress.
Charity's break out role was in the acclaimed HBO hit series Entourage where she portrayed Vincent Chase's love interest. She was soon starring in her first film role, Alpha Dog opposite Justin Timberlake, Bruce Willis and Emile Hirsch, to name a few. This was a role she craved because it gave her the opportunity to portray a real person inspired by a true story. Her acting chops were put through the ringer on this project working in the big leagues of the film industry alongside famed director, Nick Cassavetes.
Charity will star in The N's upcoming one-hour drama, The Best Years premiering on the teen network. Charity plays Samantha Best, a young woman about to start freshman year at a prestigious Massachusetts university. This role is an exciting opportunity for Charity who strives to be a good role model to young teens everywhere. Being a strong believer that with fame comes a great deal of social responsibility, she is determined to act as a positive guide along side others.
Since her very first play where she was draped in a reindeer hide and wired with a bright red nose, Charity has always kept her dreams in sight yet her priorities in check. She wants to continue to mature as an artist, but also as a businesswoman, as she continues to collaborate with great creative minds and pursuing projects that spark the same inspiration she had when she was a little girl watching her mother.
