A versatile and accomplished individual, Corbin Bleu comes from an extensive background in film, television, and theatre. He has established himself as an actor, singer/songwriter, dancer, voiceover/recording artist, host/television personality, and producer. Bleu is probably best known for his role as Chad Danforth in Disney’s Emmy Award-winning High School Musical franchise. Most recently in 2021 Bleu starred in his debut Hallmark Channel movie Love, For Real playing the role of Marco Tate, a bachelor looking for love on a dating show who comes to realize not all of his bachelorettes are there with the same intentions. Also in 2021, Bleu starred in the Lifetime Holiday movie, A Christmas Dance Reunion where he was reunited on screen with his former High School Musical co-star Monique Coleman.
Bleu was last seen on Broadway as Lucentio/Bill Calhoun in the Tony award nominated, 2019 revival of Kiss Me Kate for the Roundabout Theater Co at the legendary Studio 54. Bleu also headlined as Ted Hanover in the Tony-nominated production of Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn, winning him the Chita Rivera Award for Outstanding Male Dancer in a Broadway Show. Additional Broadway credits include: Godspell (Jesus) and In the Heights (Usnavi). Other stage highlights include Hairspray (Seaweed) and Mamma Mia! (Sky), both at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. In 2018, he starred as Don Lockwood, the role made famous by Gene Kelly in The Muny's centennial season production of Singin' in the Rain as well as starred as Billy Crocker in Anything Goes at Arena Stage in Washington, DC. That year Bleu was honored with the Entertainer of the Year award from the Tremaine National Gala honoring his work in the dance industry.
Bleu’s television credits include: “Dynasty,” “Supergirl,” “Chicago Med,” “The Middle,” “The Fosters,” “Castle,” “Psych,” “Franklin & Bash,” and “Blue Bloods.” Bleu also partnered with Karina Smirnoff on the multi-Emmy Award-winning ABC hit “Dancing with the Stars,” placing a close second.
On the big screen, Bleu has starred in To Write Love on Her Arms (opposite Kat Dennings), Nurse 3-D, and The Monkey's Paw to name a few.
In February of 2022, Bleu appeared in Fox‘s four-part TV event “The Real Dirty Dancing,” a one-of-a-kind competition featuring celebrities reliving the most memorable moments from the classic film. Bleu and his competition partner, celebrity chef Cat Cora, came in first place after nailing the iconic “Baby” and “Johnny” lift.
In 2022, Bleu returned to some familiar territory by guest starring in the third season, and upcoming fourth season of the Disney+ series, “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.” Bleu will play himself, star of the High School Musical franchise.
Bleu is the Chair of the National Advisory Board of the Looking Ahead Program, a division of The Actors Fund focused on helping professional young performers and their families thrive amid the unique challenges of working in the entertainment industry. He also dedicates himself to giving back through programs such as St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Starlight Children’s Foundation, & the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
