Clara Shih Biography

Clara Shih is a tech entrepreneur, investor, and bestselling author. Shih currently leads a new organization building AI tools for businesses that use Meta’s apps to reach consumers. She led artificial intelligence products, research and development at Salesforce and previously led Salesforce's largest business Service Cloud.

A digital pioneer, Shih has been named to the TIME 100 list in 2023, Fortune’s “40 under 40” and “Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs,” Fast Company’s “Most Influential People in Technology,” and a “Young Global Leader” by the World Economic Forum. Shih served on the Starbucks board of directors for 12 years and is Board Chair of Hearsay Systems, a privately held digital software firm she founded in 2009.

She graduated #1 in computer science at Stanford University, where she also received an MS in computer science. She also holds an MS in internet studies from Oxford University, where she studied as a U.S. Marshall Scholar.
