Curtis Stone is a Los Angeles-based Michelin-starred chef, restaurateur, author, and culinary entrepreneur. Curtis began cooking at the Savoy Hotel’s five-star restaurant in his hometown of Melbourne, Australia, at the age of 18. He moved to Europe when he was 21 to further his education and classical training under renowned chef Marco Pierre White for eight years, a foundation that would inform his subsequent career in Los Angeles. In 2014, Curtis opened his first solo restaurant, Maude (Beverly Hills, CA), to immediate acclaim. Following the success of Maude, Curtis opened Gwen Butcher Shop & Restaurant (Hollywood, CA) in July 2016 with his brother Luke Stone. Maude received its first Michelin star in 2019 upon the guide’s return to California, and has retained their standing, with Gwen sharing the honor with its own star in 2022. Curtis opened Woodend by Curtis Stone at Maroma, A Belmond Hotel in the Riviera Maya in the summer of 2023 and was named as a Distinguished Restaurant in the Mexico edition of the Michelin Guide during its inaugural year. "The Pie Room by Curtis Stone" is scheduled to open at Topanga Social in 2024. In addition to the restaurants, Curtis operates "Curtis Stone Events" in Los Angeles and Australia, a full-service events and catering company that crafts personalized occasions for guests.
Curtis is also an internationally known TV host, regularly co-hosting CBS's "The Rachael Ray Show," and starring in Food Network's "All-Star Academy." He has previously hosted shows such as "Kitchen Inferno," "Top Chef Masters," and "Top Chef Duels." In Fall 2019, Curtis debuted "Field Trip with Curtis Stone" on PBS, inspired by his global travels to research the regional menus at Maude. The show continued with a second season, streaming on Peacock and Tastemade. He also served as a judge on "Crime Scene Kitchen" (FOX), and appeared as an Iron Chef in Netflix’s "Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend." His latest venture in media includes hosting and producing the show and podcast, "Getting Grilled with Curtis Stone," featuring various celebrity guests.
As a best-selling author, Curtis has written six cookbooks, including his latest "Good Food, Good Life: 130 Recipes You’ll Love to Make and Eat." Additionally, he is an advocate of cooking with local, seasonal, and organic ingredients, and contributes as a food columnist to O Magazine bimonthly. Curtis's involvement in the culinary world extends to product development, with his line, Curtis Stone’s Kitchen Solutions, available at Williams-Sonoma and other global retailers. Recognized for his significant contributions to tourism and hospitality, Curtis was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia. His commitment to social causes is evidenced through his "#Commit2One" initiative, partnering annually with charities such as The National Young Farmer’s Coalition and Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign.
Curtis is married to actress Lindsay Price, and the couple resides in California with their two sons.
