Adrian van Hooydonk Biography
Adrian van Hooydonk was born in Echt, the Netherlands, in 1964 and studied industrial design at Delft Polytechnic University (master degree). He then completed a postgraduate degree at one of the automotive industry's leading design schools, the Art Center Europe in Vevey, Switzerland, where he focused on the art of drawing.
Adrian van Hooydonk worked as a product designer in the Netherlands and Italy before moving to the BMW Group in Munich in 1992. In 2000 he was recruited by the BMW Group's Designworks USA subsidiary in California, where he served as President from 2001 to 2004. He then returned to Munich as Director of Design, BMW Automobiles. The designer became Senior Vice President BMW Group Design in February 2009 and is responsible for the design development of the BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brands and DesignworksUSA.
