Alex Pattakos

Alex Pattakos, Ph.D., often referred to as "Dr. Meaning," is the founder of the Center for Meaning based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA. He has gained recognition for his work in transformational thinking and for helping individuals discover deeper, authentic meaning in their lives and careers. He authored the international best-selling book "Prisoners of Our Thoughts: Viktor Frankl's Principles for Discovering Meaning in Life and Work." This book, inspired and encouraged by his mentor, the renowned psychiatrist Dr. Viktor Frankl, is available in 14 languages and includes a foreword by Dr. Stephen R. Covey. It has also been a national Top-10 bestseller in Spain. A revised paperback edition released in 2008 features a new subtitle and additional chapter, while an audiobook format is available for digital download.

Throughout his career, Pattakos has worn many hats: therapist, mental health administrator, political campaign organizer, and university professor of public and business administration. He has collaborated with several Presidential administrations on social and economic policy matters and served as an adviser to the Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. His academic contributions include being one of the initial faculty evaluators for the Innovations In American Government Awards Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and a faculty member at The Brookings Institution.

Currently, Pattakos is actively involved in consultancy through The Innovation Group, focusing on designing innovation systems, processes, products, and policies that are meaningful across various sectors. He is a past president of Renaissance Business Associates, an international nonprofit association that strives to elevate the human spirit in the workplace. Through his engagements with Fortune 500 companies, public and nonprofit organizations, and in academia, he has facilitated personal and organizational transformation. Known for his dynamic and inspirational approach, Pattakos continues to speak globally, offering his expertise on creating meaningful change and realizing potential in both personal and professional settings.
