Amanda Lipp

Amanda Lipp’s empathy drives her creativity and social entrepreneurship. During college, she spent three months in a psychiatric hospital after experiencing her own crisis. She began storyboarding patients’ experiences and witnessed the power of vulnerably and storytelling. Lipp has since produced over 100 short documentary films and multimedia products about mental health and social impact – covering complex topics such as youth psychosis to tiny home building for California fire survivors. Clients have included Stanford Medical, Sutter Health, Columbia Psychiatry, and the University of California, San Francisco. Since age 18, she has given over 150 speeches sharing her personal story, debuting her films, and raising awareness.

Lipp is the co-founder of two social enterprise companies: The Giving Gallery and neuroHealth, both focused on elevating mental health philanthropy and access to services. Additionally, she is a Technical Assistance Specialist for the Center for Applied Research Solutions, a nonprofit that supports state and federal mental health initiatives. As a believer in civic leadership and giving back, she has served on the Mental Health Advisory Panel at Google and the Interdepartmental Serious Mental Illness Committee (ISMICC) created by Congress. Lipp formerly served as the youngest board member for the largest grassroots mental health nonprofit in the U.S., the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

Lipp graduated from UC Davis with a B.S. in Human Development, and is a fellow of CORO Northern California and the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program (NELP). Her hobbies include rock climbing and mountain biking, and she holds a black belt in Kung Fu and Kenpo. Lipp embraces an alternative and adventurous lifestyle; she DIY built her own van in 2023, embracing the #vanlife as she travels around the country promoting advocacy and awareness.
