Amir Khan

Amir Khan is a British former professional boxer, known for his achievements both as an Olympian and a world champion. He established himself as Britain's youngest boxing Olympic medalist at the age of 17, winning a silver medal in the lightweight division at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Recognized as a promising talent early on, he was named "Prospect of the Year" by ESPN in 2007. He transitioned into professional boxing successfully, becoming one of the youngest British world champions at 22 years old after defeating Andreas Kotelnik for the WBA title.

Khan held unified light-welterweight world championships from 2009 to 2012 and the IBF title in 2011. He also held the Commonwealth lightweight title from 2007 to 2008 and the WBC Silver welterweight title from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, he moved up to challenge for a middleweight world title. His professional boxing record tallied up to an impressive 34 wins from his 40 fights. Khan's career was punctuated by notable victories over opponents like Chris Algieri, Devon Alexander, and Marcos Maidana. His performance against Marcos Maidana in 2010 was awarded Fight of the Year by the Boxing Writers Association of America.

Khan's involvement in boxing extends beyond the ring. He is a promoter and sponsor, owning Khan Promotions and the Amir Khan Academy in Pakistan, and is a co-owner of India's Super Fight League (MMA) and Super Boxing League. Khan also expanded his reach to television, appearing on reality television and game shows, including the seventeenth series of "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" in 2017.

Off the ring, Amir Khan is known for his philanthropic efforts. He established the Amir Khan Foundation, which is involved in various charitable initiatives worldwide. These include the Barnardo's children's charity in Britain; the Water Wells project, which provides water wells in drought-stricken regions across Asia and Africa; and the #OrphanAID project (in partnership with the Shilpa Shetty Foundation), which provides aid for Syrian refugees in Greece. Khan's charitable work earned him the Pride of Performance Award from the President of Pakistan in 2014.
