Anthony Robles

Born with one leg, Anthony Robles defied the odds to become a three-time all-American wrestler and the 2011 NCAA National Wrestling Champion. Proving that hard work and a strong belief in yourself can lead anyone to success, Robles shares his philosophy that we have the power to conquer adversity, no matter how overwhelming the odds.

When Robles was born without a right leg, there was little hope that he would go on to live a normal life, much less one focused on pursuing success in a sport as demanding as wrestling. With steely determination, dedication to sharpening his mental strength and adapting his technique to win matches, Robles went from being the worst wrestler in the city of Mesa, Arizona to become the 2011 NCAA Division I Champion, a three-time All-American and NWCA Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament the while winning with the disadvantage of wrestling able-bodied athletes. Robles credits his ability to succeed in the face of overwhelming challenges to a belief instilled in him by his mother that he could do anything and could overcome any obstacle that came his way. He carries this belief today through his work with The Robles Unstoppable Foundation, which assists underserved 8th thru 12th-grade student athletes that are in need of guidance and resources to fund their academic and athletic endeavors.

Robles' remarkable story has made him a sought after guest on major national media including ESPN, "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." A symbol of perseverance, Robles shares with audiences and readers of his book "Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion" his philosophy that courage and the tenacity to never give up on your dream can make you unstoppable no matter how overwhelming the odds.

Robles is the recipient of the 2011 ESPYs Jimmy V Award for Perseverance and the 2011 Most Courageous Athlete Award presented by the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association. He has been inducted in both Arizona State University's Hall of Fame as well as the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.

A wrestling analyst for ESPN, Robles has been a commentator of the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships since 2012. In 2018, Robles set the world record for the most pull-ups in one minute, with 62, at the halftime of a Jets game.
