How did April Masini go from being a college dropout to the person featured on the cover of Marquis Who's Who Millennium Magazine?

Masini's accomplishments as a “media maven” CEO, author, columnist, and political advocate speak for themselves. However, she has always, and remains, most motivated by large scale, cause-driven, projects.

Hawaii’s statewide contest, “Share Aloha with the World,” is a testament to Ms. Masini’s talent for creating opportunities to make an impact. This inventive and inclusive contest is noteworthy for many reasons. Among them, it turned The Miss Universe Pageant into a learning opportunity by engaging and challenging children K-12 to express their creativity in a poem, painting or drawing. Her contest submissions still line the walls of Hawaii airports. As co-chair of the 1998 Miss Universe Pageant, Masini also created and produced nine back-to-back, uniquely themed, world-class events, including Hawaii’s largest weekday parade.

Proven political savvy: Masini is an effective, accomplished, and acclaimed advocate for the film industry. Evidenced in Hawaii: Masini helped draft two vital pieces of film legislation. Subsequent lobbing efforts, by Masini, helped win political and private sector support. Result: Both pieces of legislation were successfully passed.

Masini's track record of success continued⎯ raising tens of millions in financing for notable productions, including Baywatch, Miss Universe and Blue Crush ⎯ next, as Co-Chair of the Governor’s Inaugural Gala, producer of Destination Stardom, and Co-Chair, Producer and Event Coordinator for the Miss Universe Pageant.

Beyond initiating and overseeing the relocation of Baywatch from California to Hawaii (discovering Jason Momoa and changing the series name to Baywatch Hawaii) Masini, through her work with the Universal Studios’ film Blue Crush, “pioneered the first-of- its-kind cross-promotion between a Hollywood studio and the location in which its film (Blue Crush) was shot”.

Hawaii’s then-Governor, Ben Cayetano, credited Masini with “almost single handedly reviving the state’s television and film industry” and proclaimed June 4th as “Masini Day”.


In addition to authoring 4 books, Masini is a recognized advice columnist, blue-chip corporate spokesperson and preferred go-to source for the world’s most prominent news outlets, including: ABC, CBS, FOX, US News & World Report, Wall Street Journal, NY Times, LA Times, Chicago Tribune, Forbes, the AP, TIME, USA Today.


TD Bank invited Masini to analyze TD Bank's 2016 Love and Money Survey, and then hired her to act as media spokesperson for interviews related to financial issues that impact relationships. Previously, P&G's Old Spice named Masini the Dating Expert for their national Voice of Experience campaign.
