Aria Mia Loberti

Aria Mia Loberti is an American actress, writer, human rights advocate and Fulbright Scholar, best known for her starring role as ‘Marie-Laure Leblanc’ in Netflix’s adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize winning novel, "All the Light We Cannot See." Before turning her focus to acting, she was a PhD candidate in Ancient Rhetoric at Penn State University; she also received her Masters Degree in Ancient Rhetoric with distinction in 2021 from Royal Holloway, University of London, on a Fulbright Scholarship.

Spending her childhood advocating for her own educational rights and access, Aria’s personal experiences and academic background have inspired her to be an advocate for gender and disability parity as well as climate action.

Aria began working with UNICEF USA in 2022, and traveled to Kosovo the following year to see UNICEF’s work firsthand. Children and young people in Kosovo face numerous environmental challenges, notably air pollution, which has become a significant health risk. Aria met with a passionate group of young activists to discuss their challenges and future aspirations, empowering them to advocate for important issues in their communities, including climate action.

ria has been one of UNICEF USA’s most outspoken voices on climate activism and equal opportunities in education. She has supported UNICEF USA’s efforts to pass the READ Act Reauthorization in the United States where she lobbied on Capitol Hill to help ensure the U.S. Government will continue to update and report on strategies to improve foundational literacy and numeracy in basic education for every child. While in D.C., Aria attended the Mastercard Global Inclusive Growth Summit as a guest speaker alongside The New York Times and The Daily host Sabrina Tavernise, sharing insights from her activism journey and emphasizing the transformative power of youth voice.

Aria has also spoken at multiple conferences in support of eco-optimism and the power of youth activist voices including Aspen Ideas: Climate, Aspen Ideas: Health, Climate Week NYC and the MasterCard Inclusion Summit about climate joy as an act of resistance, closing the climate gap for women and girls, and women and girls as critical climate solutions, while also meeting with youth change makers to discuss pressing climate issues and the importance of youth voice in climate activism.

Building on her climate advocacy efforts, Aria participated in a UNICEF Clubs Earth Day campaign where she joined a conversation with young people including National Youth Council members, club leaders and youth advocates, to speak openly about environmental activism

Aria activates on social media to her 45,000-plus combined followers on Instagram and Facebook, pushing content and awareness inclusive of climate activism, along with other UNICEF USA key initiatives such as World Literacy Day, International Women’s Day, Champions for Children, READ Act Reauthorization and more.
