Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson

Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson is Britain's most successful Paralympic athlete, having competed in five Paralympic Games and won a total of 11 gold medals, along with 4 silver and 1 bronze. Her athletic prowess also led her to win the London Wheelchair Marathon six times between 1992 and 2002. Recognized for her contributions to sport, she was granted the title of ‘Dame’ Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE in 2005.

Following her retirement in 2007, Grey-Thompson has maintained a significant presence in public life. In 2010, she was elevated to the House of Lords as a crossbench peer, where she actively participates in debates focusing on sport, disability, health, welfare, and youth development.
